APC Leaders Defend Uzodimma Against Wike's Criticism

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-East expressed their support for Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and the Progressive Governors’ Forum in response to criticisms from Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. In a joint statement issued on Thursday, they deemed Wike's comments regarding APC governors as unacceptable and called for a return to party discipline and mutual respect.

The statement was signed by Ijeomah Arodiogbu, the APC National Vice Chairman for the South-East, along with party chairmen from Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo states. The leaders defended the achievements of APC governors, particularly their performance in the 2023 presidential election, and accused Wike of attempting to interfere in their political affairs ahead of the 2027 elections.

They criticized Wike's political coalition as a “rainbow coalition” and urged party members to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and other APC candidates in the upcoming elections, asserting that the APC is larger than any individual.
