APC Leaders Endorse Barakat Odunuga Bakar for Lagos Assembly

Barakat Odunuga Bakar, a former special adviser to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has garnered support from prominent leaders within the All Progressives Congress (APC) for her candidacy for the Surulere 1 constituency seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly for the 2027 elections. This endorsement followed a week-long consultation tour across the constituency, where she engaged with party leaders and grassroots members to rally support.

During her campaign, Khadijat Kareem, a presidential aide on constituency affairs, praised Bakar's experience and capability to deliver effective representation. Bakar's track record includes her tenure as a leader in the Surulere Local Government Legislative Council, demonstrating her readiness for higher responsibilities.

Sulaiman Yusuf, chairman of the Surulere Local Government, acknowledged the need for fresh leadership and emphasized Bakar's loyalty and grassroots connections. Bakar expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and called for unity within the party ahead of the primaries, reaffirming her commitment to attract development and deliver democratic dividends to the people of Surulere.
