APC Declares Yusuf Gagdi Winner of Plateau Reps Primary

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially declared Yusuf Gagdi as the winner of the Plateau State House of Representatives primary election, reversing an earlier result that named John Tongshinen as the victor. This announcement was made on Monday at the APC state secretariat by Stella Okotet, the chairman of the APC Plateau State Primary Election Committee.

Okotet described the earlier result, which had declared Tongshinen the winner with 29,968 votes to Gagdi's 5,849, as unauthorized and invalid. She clarified that the official declaration of Gagdi as the winner was made by Nandom Andrew Kura, who has the authority to announce results.

Gagdi, the current chairman of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Navy, insisted that the electoral process was conducted fairly across all 36 wards. He dismissed claims of multiple results as illegitimate and emphasized that the earlier announcement lacked proper authorization, rendering it null and void.
