APC Primaries: Gagdi Declared Winner Amid Confusion

The All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries faced confusion due to conflicting results. The committee, led by Barr.

Nandom Andrew Kura, declared Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi the winner for the House of Representatives seat in Pankshin, with a total of 29,207 votes.

However, a separate announcement indicated that Dr. John Tongshinen had also been declared the winner, receiving 29,968 votes.

The committee confirmed that five candidates participated in the primaries, with Gagdi and Tongshinen emerging as the focal points of the dispute. The total valid votes cast were reported as 31,150.

Hon. Stella Oketet, chairperson of the committee, dismissed the second declaration as unauthorized and described it as null and void.

The situation has raised concerns about the integrity of the electoral process within the APC.
