Labour Party Accuses APC of Plotting to Infiltrate Structures Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Labour Party (LP) in Nigeria has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of plotting to infiltrate its structures ahead of the 2027 general election. LP's interim national publicity secretary, Tony Akeni, alleged that APC is positioning moles to disrupt LP's congresses at various levels.

Akeni claimed that APC's aim is to destabilize the opposition and secure leadership positions within LP. The party also criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), accusing it of favoring APC's interests.

LP highlighted the need for transparency in INEC's operations to ensure a fair electoral process and prevent undue influence from the ruling party.
