LP Blames APC, Abure For Party’s Exclusion From By-elections

The Labour Party (LP) has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a faction led by Julius Abure of conspiring to exclude them from upcoming by-elections. The LP's interim National Working Committee (NWC) spokesperson, Tony Akeni, stated in Abuja that the exclusion was a plot to deny Nigerian voters the chance to elect credible representatives.

The LP believes that the leadership crisis orchestrated by Abure was used as a pretext to exclude them, despite the Supreme Court recognizing Senator Esther Nenadi's Interim NWC as the authentic leadership of the party. Akeni criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for allegedly possessing a copy of the Supreme Court judgment affirming the NWC but still excluding them.

The LP called on Nigerians to join them in fighting against misrule, insecurity, corruption, and economic instability.
