APC Primary Winners Alarmed Over Result Manipulation

Winners of the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections have expressed alarm over alleged manipulation of results and delays in the issuance of certificates, which they fear could alter the final list of candidates for the 2027 general elections. The primary elections, conducted between May 15 and May 23, resulted in various candidates being announced as winners, yet many have not received official confirmation documents.

This delay has created tension within the party, with members fearing that it may be linked to efforts to replace candidates deemed disloyal to influential figures within the party hierarchy. Allegations have surfaced regarding the National Working Committee (NWC) retaining the right to determine candidacy outcomes, raising concerns about the democratic nature of the process.

APC stakeholders have warned against attempts to invalidate the primary results, emphasizing that the outcomes should be respected and not subject to administrative fiat. The party's national secretary, Felix Morka, declined to confirm claims of manipulation, while Abdullazeez Mamman, representing stakeholders, asserted that the committee overseeing the primaries acted on behalf of the national leadership.
