APC Renominates Tinubu and Shettima for 2027 Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially renominated Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the presidency and Kashim Shettima for the vice presidency in the upcoming 2027 presidential election. This announcement was made by Ibrahim Masari, the Special Adviser on Political Affairs to the President, who confirmed the submission of the nomination forms on behalf of the party.

The decision to retain the Tinubu-Shettima ticket comes after a month of public debate and speculation regarding potential alternative candidates for the vice presidency. The party's leadership believes that maintaining this ticket reflects their confidence in the leadership team that successfully won the 2023 presidential election.

Following this announcement, Vice President Shettima visited President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where they held a closed-door meeting, allowing Shettima to express appreciation for the party's leadership and the decision to renominate them.
