APC Aspirants in Adamawa Demand Fair Primaries Ahead of 2027

Aspirants from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State have expressed strong opposition to the alleged imposition of consensus candidates by party leaders. During a meeting in Yola on Friday afternoon, they insisted on conducting free and fair primaries to select candidates for the 2027 elections.

The spokesperson for the aspirants, Nzonzo, stated that any attempt to force consensus candidates would not be accepted and warned that such actions could undermine the party's chances of success. The forum, representing aspirants from various constituencies, called for credible primaries across 226 wards in the state.

They highlighted concerns that the current list of favored candidates was either unpopular or not sellable, which could further jeopardize the party's unity and electoral prospects. The aspirants emphasized their commitment to ensuring a transparent selection process and urged party leaders to avoid practices that could lead to division within the APC.
