Ondo APC Aspirants Reject Consensus Candidate Arrangement

Aspirants from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State have expressed strong opposition to a proposed consensus arrangement for candidate selection ahead of the upcoming primaries for the Ondo East and Ondo West federal constituency seats. In a communiqué issued following a meeting held on Thursday, four aspirants—Jibayo Adeyey, Adeniyi Bola, Fisayo Michael, and Ajilo Rais—warned that such a move would undermine internal democracy.

They emphasized their readiness to contest directly and have already secured nomination forms. The aspirants called for a transparent process to determine the party's flagbearer, asserting their commitment to providing credible alternatives in the National Assembly.

Steve Otaloro, a party leader, dismissed allegations of a consensus arrangement as unfounded and premature, stating that the primaries had not yet been conducted. He assured party members that the leadership would address any internal disagreements and ensure a fair process.
