APC Primaries Delayed in Adamawa Amid Concerns

The All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Adamawa State have yet to begin, leading to significant concern among party members. On the scheduled date, members gathered at various wards, including Girei, but found no officials present to initiate the process.

Jame Koh, a member from Girei, reported that officials assigned to conduct the primaries had not arrived. Alhaji Salihu Dalatu confirmed that the electoral committee members were also absent.

Victor Dogo, the state public secretary, stated that 226 wards across 21 local government areas had been deployed for the primaries, emphasizing the need for patience as the process would eventually take place. This delay has raised fears of a potential imposition of candidates, with Mr. Vrati Nzonzo, a spokesman for the aspirants' forum, urging party leaders to ensure credible primaries.

The forum has called for the conduct of free and fair primaries across all wards to enable the party to present credible candidates for the 2027 elections.
