APC Reschedules National Assembly Primaries in Zamfara

The All Progressives Congress (APC) announced the rescheduling of its National Assembly primaries in Zamfara State through a statement issued on Saturday. According to Felix Morka, the party's National Public Secretary, the House of Representatives primaries will now take place on Monday, May 18, 2026, while the Senate primaries are scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

The state House of Assembly primaries will occur on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, and the governorship primaries are set for Thursday, May 21, 2026. The presidential primaries remain unchanged, scheduled for Monday, May 23, 2026.

The statement also outlined the appeal dates for the primaries, with appeals for the House of Representatives primaries on May 19, Senate primaries on May 20, and state House Assembly primaries on May 21, with the governorship appeal set for May 22, 2026. The APC did not provide reasons for the rescheduling, which follows a previous postponement of the House of Representatives primaries from May 15 and 16, 2026.

The party is reportedly adjusting logistics to prevent internal crises and unrest.
