APC Adopts Direct Primaries for Benue State Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed its decision to adopt direct primaries for electing candidates in Benue State. This announcement was made by National Vice Chairman Mu Azu Rijau during a reconciliation meeting held in Makurdi.

Rijau clarified that the decision aligns with the provisions of the Electoral Act and follows concerns raised about automatic ticket allocations ahead of the primaries. Benue State APC Chairman Benjamin Omal praised President Bola Tinubu for convening the reconciliation meeting, describing it as a significant step towards enhancing unity within the party.

Omal reaffirmed the party's loyalty to President Tinubu and acknowledged the unwavering support of Governor Hyacinth Alia in promoting unity and leadership within the APC. The meeting aimed to create a conducive atmosphere for reconciliation and align with the President's development agenda for the state.
