APC Adopts Direct Primaries in Benue State Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has officially adopted the direct primary election method for selecting candidates, as announced by the party's North Central Vice Chairman, Mu Azu Rijau. This decision was made during a reconciliation meeting held in Makurdi on a Sunday, with a statement released on Tuesday.

Rijau clarified that the party intends to follow the provisions of the Electoral Act in conducting its primaries, addressing concerns regarding potential automatic ticket allocations for certain aspirants. He commended the initiative for the reconciliation meeting, describing it as a significant step toward rebuilding unity and strengthening the APC in Benue State.

Rijau acknowledged the leadership of Governor Hyacinth Alia in fostering a conducive atmosphere for the meeting, aligning with President Bola Tinubu's vision for the state's development. He urged party members and stakeholders to remain united as they prepare for the upcoming primaries and future elections.
