APC Commits to Campaign for Candidates Amid Wike's Coalition

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has resolved to lead a campaign to ensure victory for all its candidates in the forthcoming general elections. This decision comes amid a face-off between APC governors and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, who is backing President Bola Tinubu while also supporting candidates from other political parties through his Rainbow Coalition.

The APC governors, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, have rejected any political alliances that could undermine the party or its candidates for the 2027 elections. They unanimously declared their intention not to support any candidate not officially sponsored by the APC.

The NWC's position aligns with that of the governors, as stated in a communiqué following the party's national strategic retreat in Maiduguri, Borno State. The NWC also expressed confidence in President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other APC candidates, while committing to reconcile aggrieved party members to ensure unity ahead of the elections.
