APC Wins Edo Central Senatorial Bye-election As APGA Secures Victory in Onitsha North Constituency

The APC emerged victorious in the Edo Central Senatorial bye-election, with candidate Joseph Ikpea defeating his closest rival, Joe Okojie of the PDP, by a significant margin. The Returning Officer declared Ikpea the winner after he polled a total of votes.

Ikpea expressed gratitude to God and the people of the district, pledging to work hand in hand with the governor and party leaders to ensure quality representation for all constituents. In a separate election, the APGA secured a win in the Onitsha North Constituency 1, with candidate Mimi Azikiwe emerging victorious.

Azikiwe's victory comes after the tragic abduction and killing of the late Justice Azuka in 2024. The election results saw Azikiwe garnering votes, defeating her closest rival from the ADC.

The APC came in third in the race.
