APC wins Minister of defence’s polling unit in Jigawa by-election

The APC emerged victorious in the Jigawa by-election at the polling unit of the Minister of Defence, with 188 votes compared to the PDP's 164 votes. The immediate past governor of the state and APC chieftain also cast his vote at the polling unit amidst tight security measures.

Despite earlier results showing the APC losing at Polling Unit 001, located at a primary school mistakenly labeled as a polling booth, the party managed to secure a win. The minister's constituency saw a significant security presence from the Nigeria Police, NSCDC, NIS, and others to maintain law and order.

While the Minister of State for Education commended the peaceful conduct of the election, residents in the area continued with their normal business activities, indicating a relatively high voter turnout.
