INEC declares APC candidate winner of Jigawa bye-election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Mukhtar Rabiu, the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the Jigawa bye-election. The Federal constituency Returning Officer, Isma'il Ibrahim, announced the results at the Babura INEC office, revealing that Rabiu received the highest number of votes.

Rabiu secured 22,965 votes, while Isah Auwalu Manzo of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) received 16,267 votes, and Sabo Salisu of the NNPP received 2,931 votes. The election, which took place on August 16th, saw Rabiu emerge victorious with the highest number of votes.

INEC confirmed that Rabiu met all legal requirements and declared him the winner of the election.
