APC National Convention: Yilwatda and Basiru Re-elected

The All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted its 4th national convention on Friday night at Eagle Square, Abuja. During this event, Prof.

Nentaw Yilwatda was re-elected as the national chairman, while Surajudeen Basiru emerged as the national secretary. The convention was organized by a committee led by former Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari and former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Anyim Pius Anyim.

The election of party officials was conducted via consensus. However, the party's deputy national chairman, Emmanuel Enekwu, and deputy national organizing secretary, Hon.

Chidi Duru, were dropped from the National Working Committee (NWC). Present at the convention were notable figures including President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswil Akpabio, and Speaker Tajudeen Abba.

The theme of the convention was "Unity, Progress, Consolidation, and Renewed Hope Agenda." The APC is expected to hold its primaries for various electoral positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
