APC Plans National Convention for March 2026

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is scheduled to hold its national convention on March 27-28, 2026, with the intention of returning Nentaw Yilwatda and other current National Working Committee (NWC) members. The party has decided to maintain its current NWC members to avoid potential crises ahead of the upcoming general elections.

Biodun Oyebanji, the Governor of Ekiti State, assured that the screening process for aspirants will be fair and just, adhering to the party's constitution and the Electoral Act. The committee overseeing the screening includes notable figures such as Ajibola Basiru, Abubakar Dalori, and Emma Eneukwu, among others.

The APC aims to foster unity and avoid internal disputes, emphasizing that the convention will not be a coronation but rather a consensus-building effort. The party acknowledges the challenges ahead, particularly regarding member participation in contests for various positions, which could be a double-edged sword.
