Peter Obi Defies APC Governors, Vows to Contest 2027

Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State and presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has declared that he will not be intimidated by the 30 governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as he prepares to contest the 2027 presidential election. Speaking during an empowerment program in the Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State, Obi described the situation as a conspiracy aimed at discouraging his candidacy.

He criticized the current political system, stating that Nigeria is on the brink of collapse and that the nation needs redemption. Obi expressed his commitment to a free and fair electoral process, urging that the elections should be transparent and not manipulated by those in power.

He also addressed issues regarding the Labour Party's leadership and its recognition by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), highlighting the challenges faced since his departure from the party. Obi remains hopeful about the future of Nigeria despite the current political climate.
