APGA Releases Primary Election Schedule for Anambra LG Polls 2026

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has unveiled the primary election schedule for the upcoming 2026 local government polls in Anambra State. The party's National Public Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, disclosed that the process will commence with the submission of nomination forms starting from January 27 to February 6.

Screening of chairmanship and councillorship aspirants will take place from February 7 to February 11 at the party's Awka region secretariat. The screening exercise will cover all 21 local government areas and 326 wards in the state.

Following the screening process, an appeal arising from the screening will be addressed on February 13, leading up to the ward congress to elect councillorship candidates and ad hoc delegates on February 14. The chairmanship primary election is scheduled for February 15 in Awka, with the party announcing the cost of nomination forms at 6 million naira for chairmanship aspirants and 600,000 naira for councillorship aspirants.

APGA emphasized the need for strict adherence to the party's guidelines and electoral regulations throughout the entire process.
