APM Questions Tinubu's Fund Release to Regional Commissions

The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has expressed alarm over President Bola Tinubu's directive for the release of funds to regional development commissions, citing concerns about the timing just four months before the 2027 general election. The party, through its National Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Abubakar, demanded full disclosure of allocations, project details, locations, costs, and contractors involved, emphasizing the need for transparency, independent oversight, and accountability.

President Tinubu had instructed the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, to ensure timely fund releases during the North Central Stakeholders Development Summit. The APM questioned the directive's timing, noting it came six months after the National Assembly passed a N1.3 trillion budget for the commissions.

They alleged potential misuse of funds for electoral purposes without providing evidence and called for public disclosure of project details before any funds are released. The party also encouraged Nigerians to monitor the commissions' activities closely.
