Appeal Court Upholds PDP Suspension of Samuel Anyanwu

The Appeal Court has upheld the suspension of Samuel Anyanwu, the former national secretary of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), along with three others. This decision affirms an earlier ruling by the Federal High Court of Nigeria, delivered by Justice James Omotosho, which had granted relief to the plaintiffs, including a restraining order against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcomes of the PDP's national convention scheduled for November 15-16.

The unanimous judgment was delivered by a three-member panel of the Appeal Court on Monday, which determined that the appeal filed by the PDP lacked merit. The panel resolved four issues raised in the appeal against the party, thereby affirming the ruling made on October 31 by the lower court.
