Appeal Court Orders Adebayo to Face Contempt Charges

The Appeal Court in Abuja has ruled that former Edo State Deputy Governor Godwin Adebayo must face contempt charges due to his refusal to vacate his office. This decision comes after a judgment from the Federal High Court, which had previously ruled on the removal of Adebayo, initiated by the current Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu.

A three-man panel of the Appeal Court, led by Justice Okon Abang, determined that Adebayo's appeal against the trial court's decision was without merit and subsequently dismissed it. The court's ruling directs the preparation of a contempt suit against Adebayo for not complying with the valid order issued by the Federal High Court in Abuja.
