Appeal Court Reserves Judgment in Natasha Akpoti and Godswill Akpabio's Appeals

The Appeal Court in Abuja has reserved judgment in the appeals filed by Natasha Akpoti and Godswill Akpabio challenging the legality of their suspensions from the Senate. Akpoti and Akpabio's legal teams argued that the Federal High Court's judgment on the matter was invalid and unconstitutional.

Akpabio's lead counsel, Kehinde Ogunwumiju, requested the nullification of the judgment, citing errors and miscarriage of justice. Additionally, Akpoti and Uduaghan filed a cross-appeal challenging a fine imposed on them for contempt of court.

Justice Binta Nyako found the Senate guilty of civil contempt over a Facebook post.
