Apple Plans to Turn iPhones into Passports by 2025, Reshaping Travel

Apple is set to revolutionize travel by allowing iPhones to serve as full passports by 2025. This move aims to provide a government-grade digital identification solution that will reshape how millions of people travel.

The feature will be housed within the Apple Wallet app, which already supports digital driver's licenses and national IDs in select regions. Jennifer Bailey, Apple's VP, highlighted the security and convenience benefits of this digital ID system.

Apple is collaborating with international bodies like ICAO, the EU, and the UK to ensure global compatibility. The phased rollout is expected to begin in select travel corridors before expanding internationally.
