Arewa Group Condemns Leadership Crisis in ACF

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) is currently experiencing a leadership crisis, which has prompted condemnation from the Arewa group. The group describes the ongoing disputes as embarrassing and damaging to the image and credibility of Northern Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, signed by its Director General Abdullahi Idris, the Arewa group expressed concern over the public spectacle created by the exchange of accusations and counter-statements among factions within the ACF. This situation has been characterized by allegations of financial misconduct and has led to a significant breakdown in institutional respect.

The group lamented that the current leadership crisis reflects poorly on the North, particularly amidst ongoing issues such as insecurity, poverty, unemployment, and poor education. They urged all parties involved to embrace dialogue and restraint to prevent further damage to the region's image and to work towards a united and credible leadership that can advance the interests of Northern Nigeria.
