Argentina Fans Unite in NYC for World Cup Final Against Spain

In anticipation of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final against Spain, fans of Argentina have taken to the streets of New York City, particularly in the neighborhood known as “Little Argentina” in Elmhurst, Queens, and among the Bangladeshi community in Brooklyn. The Rio de la Plata Bakery, located at 92-11 37th Ave, is adorned with sky blue and white decorations.

Christian Gimenez, the bakery owner, expressed the importance of preserving their culture and noted that the joy of Argentina's progress in the tournament has brought families together. The Argentine community, once significantly larger, is now rallying support as they hope for Lionel Messi to conclude his international career with a World Cup victory.

Additionally, the Bangladeshi community in Kensington and South Brooklyn has joined in cheering for La Albiceleste. Public watch parties have attracted large crowds to local bars and public squares, with expectations of one of the largest gatherings occurring just outside Met Life Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday.
