Nigerian Army Clarifies Death of General Braimah in Borno

The Nigerian Army issued a clarification regarding the death of Brigadier General Oseni Braimah during an attack on a military base in Benisheikh, Borno State. Lt.

Col. Sanni Uba, representing the North East Joint Task Force, dismissed viral reports claiming that 17 soldiers were killed as false and misleading.

The official casualty figures confirmed that two officers and two soldiers lost their lives during the attack. Uba emphasized that the reports circulating on social media were exaggerated and lacked credible verification, aiming to distort facts and undermine ongoing military operations.

He clarified that the vehicle used by Brigadier General Braimah was not faulty but was temporarily immobilized due to combat conditions. The situation reflected intense battle conditions rather than equipment failure.

Uba urged the public to disregard misleading content that could incite panic and confirmed that troops successfully repelled the attack, maintaining control of the location and forcing insurgents to retreat.
