Army Denies Clerics' Abduction at Yari's Residence

The Nigerian Army has dismissed reports alleging that a group of Islamic scholars was abducted at the residence of former Zamfara State Governor Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari in Talata Mafara Local Government Area. Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for the 8 Division/Sector 2 of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, issued a statement clarifying that no clerics were taken from Yari's residence, labeling the reports as misleading and false.

He confirmed that the actual abduction occurred while the victims were traveling from the Sububu forest axis in Bakura Local Government Area towards Talata Mafara. The Army is actively working to locate and rescue the abducted individuals, collaborating with other security agencies and local intelligence networks to enhance operations in the area.

The Army has urged the public to refrain from spreading sensational or unverified information that could incite panic or hinder military efforts.
