Nigerian Army Denies Unpaid Allowances and Extortion Claims in Ogun State

The Nigerian Army has refuted viral claims of troops in Ogun State engaging in extortion and not receiving their entitlements. The Army spokesperson, Brigadier General Idereghi Samuel Akari, clarified that the allegations were baseless and aimed at discrediting military leadership.

The soldiers deployed in Ogun State are part of Operation Mesa, funded by the Ogun State Government, and receive monthly allowances promptly. The Army emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline and unethical conduct, urging compliance with directives from the Defence Headquarters.
