Nigerian Army Raids Illegal Arms Factory in Plateau State

On Wednesday at 5:00 PM, the Nigerian Army, under the command of Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, raided an illegal arms manufacturing site in Gwandanu Village, Langtang North Local Government Area, Plateau State. During the operation, two suspects were arrested while allegedly engaged in the production of illegal weapons.

The troops recovered a substantial cache of weaponry, including two AK-47 rifles, a G3 rifle, industrial equipment such as a generator set, welding machine, drill machine, and a toolbox used for illegal arms production. The operation is part of a broader initiative to combat the proliferation of illicit weapons and criminal activities in the region.

Additionally, troops were deployed to Gidan Waya in Jema Local Government Area in response to an attack on members of a local vigilance group. Following the sighting of the troops, some suspects abandoned their motorcycles and fled into the bush, with one suspect later apprehended.

The arrested individuals are currently in custody undergoing investigations to determine the extent of their distribution network and potential links to wider criminal syndicates.
