Nigerian Army Seizes Weapons, Arrests Two in Delta State

On Monday, the Nigerian Army's 63 Brigade, under the command of Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibar, announced a successful operation in Ogidigben, located in the Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State. The operation, which was conducted by the sector 1 joint task force as part of "Delta Safe," led to the confiscation of four AK-47 rifles, six magazines, 106 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two knives, ten machetes, and four pairs of rain boots.

Two suspects were arrested during this operation, which was prompted by credible intelligence following reports of sporadic shootings in the community. Captain Iliyasu Bawa Rijau, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 63 Brigade, confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation.

Brigadier General Shonibar commended the troops for their resilience and urged them to maintain their operational tempo while warning individuals and groups harboring arms to reconsider their actions.
