Nigerian Army Denies Bandit Seizure, Maintains Operational Success

The Nigerian Army refuted claims of bandits seizing weapons and overpowering troops in Kwara State. Reports alleged that bandits took six General Purpose Machine Guns and ammunition in Obanla.

However, the Army clarified that the information was false. Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Polycarp Okoye, stated that troops from the 148 Battalion were conducting successful clearance operations in Kogi and Kwara States.

The soldiers neutralized two armed bandits, recovered two rifles, and continued to achieve operational success. The Army emphasized that the troops were not overrun, contrary to online reports, and were actively engaged in ongoing operations.
