Arokodare Scores on Ajax Debut in Pre-Season Win

Tolu Arokodare, a Super Eagles striker, made an impressive debut for Ajax on Sunday, scoring in a 3-2 pre-season victory over FC Volendam. Recently transferred on a season-long loan from English Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers, Arokodare entered the match in the 71st minute, replacing Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo.

He quickly made an impact, scoring Ajax's third goal in the 88th minute after a cross from defender Anton Gaaei created confusion in the FC Volendam defense. This goal was pivotal in securing the win as Ajax prepares for the 2026/27 season.

Arokodare's loan includes an option for Ajax to make the transfer permanent if he performs well. His debut goal positions him favorably for more playing time under the Ajax coaching staff and strengthens his case for maintaining a spot in Nigeria's national team.
