Tolu Arokodare Scores on Ajax Debut in Pre-Season Win

Tolu Arokodare made a successful debut for Ajax, scoring in their 3-1 pre-season victory against FC Volendam at the Kras Stadion in Volendam. Arokodare entered the match as a substitute for Marcos Leonardo in the 71st minute and completed the scoring after capitalizing on a misplayed clearance in the box.

Earlier in the match, Anton Gaaei and Marcos Leonardo had scored to give Ajax a commanding lead. Arokodare recently joined Ajax on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, which includes an option for a permanent transfer.

His move to Ajax follows a challenging period at Wolves, where he faced accusations of disrupting training amid transfer speculation, which he denied. Arokodare had previously enjoyed a successful stint at Racing Genk, scoring 31 league goals in 79 appearances before transferring to Wolves for £24 million in September 2025.

Ajax, having finished fifth in the Eredivisie last season, will compete in the Conference League play-offs this season.
