Tolu Arokodare Set for Ajax Medical Ahead of Loan Move

Tolu Arokodare, currently a forward for Wolverhampton Wanderers, is on the verge of a loan move to Ajax, with a medical scheduled in the Netherlands on Tuesday. Following Wolves' relegation from the Premier League, Arokodare has been linked with an exit from Molineux.

He joined Wolves from Belgian side Genk for £24 million last summer but had a difficult debut season, scoring six goals in 38 appearances during the 2025/26 season. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Ajax has reached a club-to-club agreement with Wolves for a season-long loan that includes an option to buy, with the overall deal valued at €20 million (£17.1 million).

Ajax's new head coach, Michel, considers Arokodare a priority signing. Arokodare reportedly turned down an approach from Trabzonspor and had negotiations with Italian clubs Fiorentina and Genoa that did not materialize.

Despite his struggles at Wolves, Ajax is encouraged by his previous performance at Genk, where he scored 41 goals in 113 appearances.
