Arrest of Mahmuda sect leader: Gov Bago hails Tinubu, DSS

Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Department of State Services (DSS) for the arrest of Abubakar Abba, the leader of the feared Mahmuda sect. Governor Bago expressed his commitment to collaborating with federal security agencies to combat terrorism in the country.

Abba was apprehended alive in Wawa community, Borgu local government area of Niger State, and was subsequently taken to Abuja by the DSS. Governor Bago commended the DSS for their competence and intelligence in capturing the terrorist leader without any violence.

The arrest of Abba is seen as a significant victory in the fight against terrorism in Nigeria. The Mahmuda sect has been terrorizing residents around the Kainji National Park in Niger State, and Abba's capture has raised hopes for improved security in the region.
