Arsenal Edges Lyon 2-1 in Women's Champions League Semi

In the first leg of the Women’s Champions League semi-final held at Emirates Stadium, Arsenal triumphed over Lyon with a score of 2-1. Lyon took the lead in the 18th minute when Jule Brand scored after a confident run.

Arsenal equalized shortly after the hour mark due to an own goal by Ingrid Engen, as Lyon's goalkeeper Christian Endler mishandled a low free kick from Mariona Caldentey. Arsenal then took the lead in the 83rd minute when Olivia Smith capitalized on a defensive mix-up.

Despite Lyon's Kadidiat Diani hitting the crossbar and threatening to regain the lead, Arsenal held on for the victory. The second leg of the semi-final is scheduled to take place in Lyon next weekend.
