Arsenal Eyes Victor Osimhen Amid Striker Search

Arsenal is exploring the possibility of signing Nigerian international Victor Osimhen from Galatasaray as a backup option in their search for a striker. This comes as the club faces uncertainty regarding their primary target, Julián Álvarez, who may join Barcelona instead.

Mail Sport's Simon Jones reported that Álvarez is Arsenal's top choice, but his desire to move has complicated negotiations, especially with Atlético Madrid's reluctance to sell to a direct rival. Osimhen, who has a strong scoring record in Istanbul after joining Galatasaray permanently from Napoli, has been on Arsenal's radar for some time and is now a leading candidate as the transfer window approaches its deadline.

Additionally, Arsenal is managing significant player movements, with Gabriel Martinelli close to a £50 million transfer to Al Hilal, and Ethan Nwaneri set to depart on loan. Reiss Nelson is also expected to transfer to West Ham.

Arsenal's final decision on their striker acquisition will depend on the progress with Álvarez or a complete pivot to Osimhen.
