Quadri Aruna Faces Tough Draw at 2026 ITTF World Cup

Quadri Aruna, a prominent African table tennis player, is set to compete in the 2026 ITTF World Cup scheduled from March 30 to April 5, 2026, in Macao, China. This year's tournament marks the centenary of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and features 48 men and 48 women players vying for the prestigious Evan Hammarlund Cup.

Aruna, who previously reached the quarterfinals in 2014 in Düsseldorf, Germany, will begin his campaign in Group 6 against Croatia's Tomislav Pucar. He is also expected to face Japan's Sora Matsushima.

Other notable African competitors include Egyptian champion Omar Assar, who is drawn in Group 5 alongside Algeria's Mehdi Bouloussa and Chinese Taipei's Lin Jun Yu. The tournament format includes a best-of-five games group stage, with the group winners advancing to the knockout stage, emphasizing the competitive nature of this year's event.
