Quadri Aruna Faces Félix Lebrun at WTT Chongqing

Quadri Aruna, the Nigerian table tennis star currently ranked World No. 48, is set to face Félix Lebrun of France, ranked World No. 6, in the men's round of 32 at the WTT Chongqing tournament on Tuesday. This match marks Aruna's return to action in the WTT circuit after a challenging start to the year, having lost two previous matches in Doha and Singapore earlier in February.

Aruna and Lebrun have met twice before, with Aruna winning their last encounter in January 2023 at a WTT event in Durban, South Africa, with a hard-fought score of 3-2. However, Aruna's recent form is concerning as he has been winless in his last five matches on the WTT circuit.

In contrast, Lebrun has lost only one of his last five matches, suffering a 4-1 defeat to World No. 1 Wang Chuqin at the Singapore Smash earlier this month. Aruna hopes to improve his fortunes against Lebrun, having previously exited the WTT Chongqing tournament last year in the opening round against Wang Chuqin.
