PDP Resolves Internal Crisis, Zoning Presidential Ticket to South Ahead of 2027 Election

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) is making strides to resolve internal crises ahead of the 2027 general election, with a focus on zoning arrangements and reconciliation efforts. Following the 102nd National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja, the party has decided to zone the presidential ticket to the South.

The PDP Governors Forum has established a National Reconciliation Strategy Committee to address pending issues and prepare for the National Convention later this year. Concerns about potential factionalism within the party have arisen amidst defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The party aims to avert further defections and strengthen its position in the political landscape.
