ASCON Trains Federal Agency Heads on Leadership Accountability

The Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) held a training program for 40 chief executives of federal agencies at its campus in Badagry, Lagos State, on Tuesday. This event was part of the 14th cohort of the mandatory training program for public sector leaders, aimed at enhancing leadership capacity and ensuring accountability in the execution of government policies.

ASCON's Director General, Femi Adepoju, described the program as a strategic platform to equip leaders with the necessary skills and tools to translate government policies into tangible outcomes. The training aligns with a presidential circular mandating chief executives to fully assume their duties.

Nkiruka Jones Nebo, the Federal Permanent Secretary, urged participants to embrace the training and focus on executing plans rather than merely planning. The program emphasizes result-based management and accountability, highlighting the importance of leadership in bridging the gap between policy formulation and effective implementation.
