IBB and Otti Celebrate Chidi Amuta's Literary Contributions

At the book presentation of Chidi Amuta's memoir, "HOMAGE, Return to Familiar Places," held in Lagos, former Nigerian Head of State Ibrahim Babangida and Abia State Governor Alex Otti praised Amuta's significant contributions to nation-building. Babangida, represented by Abé Ibrahim, described Amuta as a journalist of international repute, emphasizing his boldness and creativity in addressing national issues.

He noted that Amuta's work transcends ethnicity, religion, and partisanship, calling the memoir a piece of national history. Rotimi Amaechi, Vice Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, acknowledged Amuta's influence on his life as a teacher at the University of Port-Harcourt.

Otti remarked that the book serves as an inspiration for the younger generation. The ceremony also featured notable attendees such as veteran journalist Ray Ekpu and Chairman of the THISDAY Editorial Board, Yemi Ogunbiyi, who highlighted Amuta's unique voice in a world increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence.
