Chidoka Lauds Kalu's Leadership in Abia's History

During the Abia State 35th anniversary celebration, former Minister of Aviation Osita Chidoka commended former Abia State Governor Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for his significant contributions to the state's political landscape. Chidoka stated that Kalu's administration, which began in 1999, placed Abia firmly in the national conversation, allowing the state to "punch above its weight." He highlighted Kalu's understanding of the political dynamics at the start of Nigeria's Fourth Republic, which enabled him to provide assertive leadership.

However, Chidoka noted that the positive momentum experienced during Kalu's tenure faded after he left office, leading to deteriorating infrastructure and a diminished national standing for Abia. He contrasted this with the current administration of Governor Alex Otti, suggesting that Otti recognizes the opportunity to restore confidence in government and rebuild infrastructure in the state.
