Athena Centre Launches Gidado Idris Governance Institute

The Athena Centre has inaugurated the Alhaji Gidado Idris Institute of Governance and Public Policy, named to honor Alhaji Gidado Idris, whose public service career reflects integrity and commitment to Nigeria. Chief Osita Chidoka, the founder and Executive Director of the Athena Centre, announced this on Wednesday.
The institute will serve as a principal platform for research, policy dialogue, and engagement aimed at effective public sector reform. Chidoka also announced four senior leadership appointments, including three institute directors.
Prof. Temitayo Shenkoya, a public policy expert from Chungnam National University in South Korea, will serve as director.
Dr. Danjuma Iyaji, a health economist, will monitor and evaluate research and learning, while Olikoy Ransom Kuti will lead the Institute of Health and Social Equity.
Dr. Izuchukwu Anyanwu, a public policy analyst from the University of Abuja, has been appointed director of the Alhaji Gidado Idris Institute.
Sarah Ek will head the Athena Elect Observatory.
