Team Lagos Dethrones Delta at National Youth Games, Claims 52 Gold Medals

Team Lagos emerged victorious at the National Youth Games, ending Delta State's eight-year reign. The competition, held in Asaba, saw Lagos clinch the overall championship for the first time since the event's inception in 2013, securing a total of 110 medals, including 52 gold, 32 silver, and 26 bronze.

Delta State, the former champions, finished second with 114 medals, while Edo State claimed the third spot. The event featured athletes aged 15 to 36 from 33 states and the Federal Capital Territory, competing in 37 sports across various venues in Asaba.

The closing ceremony was graced by dignitaries, including President Bola Tinubu and Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko.
