Atiku Commends Senators for Joining African Democratic Congress

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, praised ten senators for their recent decision to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) instead of the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a statement released on Friday, he highlighted that this move is a testament to their commitment to Nigeria's political landscape, prioritizing principles over personal gain.

The senators, representing various districts, made this shift to enhance the strength of opposition politics and promote a healthier multi-party democratic system in the country. Earlier reports indicated that a total of nine senators defected to the ADC, with five leaving the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and three departing from the Labour Party (LP).

Yaro, a senator from Adamawa South, confirmed this transition during a press briefing in Yola, Adamawa State, emphasizing the necessity of this decision to bolster the opposition against the ruling party.
